Parrots

Parrots are one of the most intelligent members of the animal kingdom. These birds never fail to impress me. It seems they always have a trick off their sleeves every time I encounter them in the wild. Most parrots are experts in keeping their movement undetected, carefully threading through each branch without making the leaves move. Their social behaviour towards other members of the flock is also impressive, where they will contantly check on each other and even engage in silly quarrels. They also seem to have a concept of "playing around" just to pass the time. Some adults would ride a gust of wind deliberately just to hover around for no reason. Unfortunately, most of our parrot species in the Philippines are threatened to extinction due to habitat loss and poaching for the illegal wildlife trade.
