I have always been fascinated by old scientific illustrations. Seeing field guide drawings and the actual artworks in museums and personal collections, really influenced my photography. I have always looked at these works of art as references for the poses I aim for in the field. They are actually part of how I plan each shoot, especially when I travel to photograph a particular species.
This is a series my wife Dahlia and I have been working on last year. Particularly, how I would tweak my workflow to make my photos cohesive with a blank canvas considering the changes in color of the substrate (archival paper/canvas)
I am starting off this series featuring 11 species of birds from all over the country that are currently facing the threat of extinction, without any conservation program to help them bounce back, raising awareness on the plight of these birds. But any of the photos in my gallery can be converted in this series.
Each photo has a dimension of 8.5 x 11 inches, printed on Fine Art Archival paper. The prints will be encased in white acid free matting, non-reflective glass and white textured frame.
Each photo will be limited to 20 prints only, personally signed by me. They will also come with a certificate of authenticity and details about the bird species.
